MIUI ROM Flashing Guide For POCO Devices | Step-by-Step |

This tutorial thread will guide you on how to flash a POCO device via the Updater app(recovery method) and fastboot method. So let's get started.

Don't worry, all are official ROMs, only uploaded unofficially.

• Recovery Method(Updater App):

**Note:

• This method doesn't require bootloader unlock.
• Via this method, you can't flash different region ROM also you can't downgrade to lower Android Version.

1. Download the correct Recovery ROM for your phone.
2. Now go to updater app->tap on 3 vertical dots-> Choose Update Package(if not visible then tap on MIUI logo 7-10 times in updater app)->Choose the recovery ROM and then tap on OK.

• Fastboot Method:

**Note:

• Warning! This method will work only for bootloader unlocked devices. If the bootloader is not unlocked then check out this.
• Before downgrading to a lower Android Version, 1st check the ARB(Anti-rollback) Index.

1. Download the correct from the links mentioned above in first Recovery method.
2. Download and install Mi Flash Tool and make sure all drivers are installed into your PC. Download here!
3. Now go to setting-> My Device-> All Specs-> Tap 7 times on MIUI Version-> Additional setting-> Developer options-> Enable USB debugging. (Make sure to backup your data before flashing.)
4. Now boot your device into "Fastboot Mode". To do so: Press the Power Button + Volume down(-) button at the same time. Then connect your device to your PC Via Data Cable.

6. Extract the downloaded ROM into your PC. You can use Winrar or any other software for extracting the ROM.

8. Now open the Mi Flash Tool and then tap on select to specify the extracted ROM path and then tap on OK or you can also manually copy the extracted ROM path and paste it into the Mi Flash Tool.

10. Press "Refresh Button", You can see that your device is detected into Mi Flash Tool.

12. Now select the "Clean all and lock" option and then press "Flash Button". Now flashing will be started, it will take few minutes to complete(Do not disconnect your device & PC while flashing process). Once flashing is done your device will automatically boot up. This process will lock your bootloader after successsful flashing.

14. ‘clean all and lock’ should be used with precaution. If your device was previously rooted, had a custom ROM, or any other sorts of modifications, then try and not use it. If there’s any sort of software modifications are leftover, it will not be possible to easily recover the device given that the bootloader will be locked.

    We personally suggest using the ‘clean all’ option in such cases. Flash the ROM and verify that the device can boot, and only then lock the bootloader using the ‘fastboot flashing lock‘ command.

15. After the Fastboot ROM is installed successfully, you should see the ‘success’ message under the ‘result’ tab and your device will automatically boot into the stock MIUI software. You can close the tool’s window now and disconnect the device from the computer.

Make sure to backup all your personal files and data to prevent data loss and keep your device charged atleast to 50% and remove SD card before proceeding.
